Haiwen is one of the first Chinese law firms that established an antitrust practice. So far, we have assisted the preparation and filing of antitrust/merger notifications in China on behalf of numerous well-known multinational companies, large and medium-sized state-owned companies and private enterprises in connection with their domestic and offshore M&A transactions. We represented clients from a wide range of industries, including civil aviation, oil and gas, chemical products, power equipment, automobile parts, consumer electronics, mobile communications, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, food and beverage, advertising, tourism, IT products, fire protection, electronic security and defense. In addition, we also regularly advise domestic and foreign clients on antitrust compliance issues relating to their business operations, for example, helping clients review their supply and distribution agreements and handle competitor complaints and government investigations.
Given that the antitrust legislation and enforcement in China are still at an early stage, we are actively involved in various government sponsored researches and discussions relating to the development of the regulatory framework and practice, and have provided consultation, comments and suggestions to the relevant government authorities. We have developed a close working relationship with the relevant government authorities and endeavor to keep ourselves abreast with the latest trend and development in policies and practice in this area. We are well positioned to assist our clients in communicating efficiently with the government authorities on potential regulatory issues and effectively reduce the clients' operational risks.
