We are pleased
to announce the joining of Ms. Zhou Jian (Joy Zhou), an experienced expert in
media and entertainment law, as a partner resident at our Hong Kong office. Ms.
Zhou has extensive experience in the areas of acquisition, production,
financing, and distribution of film &TV content; M&A; intellectual
property; data privacy and FCPA compliance. She particularly focuses on M&A
and private equity/venture capital financings in media and entertainment
sectors. Prior to joining Haiwen, Ms. Zhou had practiced for more than eight
years with Cleary Gottlieb LLP and Covington & Burling LLP before she took
the position of General Counsel of Sony Pictures, Greater China Area.
Ms. Zhou is a graduate of East China University of Political Science and Law where she earned a bachelor degree in 2002. In 2005, Ms. Zhou got a master degree from Munich Intellectual Property Law Center. Then she received an LLM degree from Northwestern University School of law in 2006.
We believe Ms. Zhou's joining will further strengthen Haiwen's capability in providing high caliber advisory service in media and entertainment M&A and PE transactions, as well as providing significant support to Haiwen Hong Kong office's general corporate and finance & investment practice.
